Cosplay Documentary

As part of my college course, I was set to make a short Documentary on anything that I felt most passionate towards. I chose Cosplay. The reason I chose to do this subject as a Documentary was because that not many people had heard of Cosplay and I felt that it was my job to teach them a little bit about it. I wanted to try and capture what people think about Cosplay and why people do it. I also wanted to show viewers in the Documentary that Cosplay isn't as bad as everyone thinks it to be. In a Cosplay community, you are like Family and you can be yourself. But if you're in normal society you're most likely going to get stereotyped by everyone.

Another reason I chose this subject is because that ANYONE can have doing it, but like all things, it will be judged. Some people think that if you're over-weight, aren't perfect at Cosplaying a character you've chosen, or if you seem unattractive to some people you shouldn't Cosplay. There is also another important thing too, if you're female you don't have to put your assets out there because you want to be a known Cosplayer. However if you choose to, you must be aware that you WILL get judged. Even if you don't. Same goes for males as well. You don't have to be perfect to Cosplay. It is for FUN.

Cosplay is just dressing as your favourite character (Whether it be a character from an Anime, a Marvel character, a video game character or a character from a book) from any genre you want. You can even Cosplay an Original Character (An OC) if you're daring enough to create your own! You can either make your Cosplay, buy it or do a bit of both. It's entirely your choice! When you Cosplay, you can do it either for competitions, just for fun or you can just take pictures of you Cosplay and put them on the internet for everyone else to see.
